CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION

POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
- Prior to participating, participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
- The SCGA's mask policy follows in accordance with the CDC and the California Department of Public Health. This is subject to change due to any local guidelines or site protocols. Click here to learn more.
FORMAT:
- All players will compete in an 18-hole, net stroke-play championship.
- The championship field will be divided evenly into flights based on each player’s Handicap Index as of November 22.
Flight Breakdown:
Marriott Shadow Ridge GC:
- Arroyo Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes of 6.4 and below.
- Mission Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes of 6.5 – 8.4.
Indian Wells CC (Classic Course):
- Mountain Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 8.5 – 10.9.
- Pacific Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 11.0 – 13.0.
The S at Rancho Mirage:
- Palm Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 13.1 – 17.4.
- San Andreas Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 17.5 and above.
- During the championship, players will use their Handicap Index (as of November 22) and will receive 95% of their Course Handicap (unless otherwise noted by the SCGA).
- Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 5th place in each flight.
- All ties at the championship will be broken using the USGA suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).
REGISTRATION:
All players must register at the SCGA tent near the driving range. Registration will begin at 7 a.m.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
- Practice rounds may be booked at the players expense a week in advance by calling the Pro Shop at 760-328-0841. Cost: $80 includes greens fees, cart, and range balls.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
- Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the championship.
- The championship will be an 8 a.m. shotgun.
- Players are encouraged to arrive at the facility well in advance of the shotgun start to register, warm up, and get situated in their golf carts for the championship announcements ahead of the shotgun start.
TEES & YARDAGES:
- All yardages and course information can be found under the “Championship Information” tab located on the Championship Portal.
- Men will play from the WHITE tee markers: 6,200 yards / Course Rating: 69.5 / Slope Rating: 122.
- Women will play from the RED tee markers: 5,540 yards / Course Rating: 72.2 / Slope Rating: 121.
DRIVING RANGE:
- The driving range will be available by 7 a.m. the morning of the championship.
- Range balls will be provided compliments of The S at Rancho Mirage and the SCGA.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:
- The snack bar at the turn will be open from 7 a.m. until the end of play.
- Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.

GOLF CARTS & PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- Golf carts are included with the entry fee; however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so.
- There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
- Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
- Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
- Pull or push carts are permitted.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Players may provide their own caddie (see section on golf carts).
- Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.
DRESS CODE:
Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.
CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:
- To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
- Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $10 administrative fee.
- Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
- Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
